TIME TRAVEL
                        ---Raktim Bar

John Titor is a name used on several bulletin boards during 2000 and 2001 by a poster claiming to be an American military time traveler from 2036.Titor made numerous vague and specific predictions regarding calamitous events in 2004 and beyond, including a nuclear war, none of which came true. The time of 2nd November,2002 in an internet disussion forum,An unknow message came to that people who were attending the discussion,Then a message came:

The first posts using John Titor's military symbol appeared on the Time Travel Institute forums on November 2, 2000, under the name TimeTravel_0.[4] At that time the name "John Titor" was not being used. The posts discussed time travel in general, the first one being the "six parts" description of what a time machine would need to have to work (see below) and responses to questions about how such a machine would work. Early messages tended to be short. A second thread was also made due to shortcomings in the forum software at the time.[5]

The name "John Titor" was not introduced until January 2001, when TimeTravel_0 began posting at the Art Bell BBS Forums (which required a name or pseudonym for every account). The Titor posts ended in late March 2001.

Around 2003, various websites reproduced Titor's posts, re-arranging them into narratives. Not all refer to the original dates posted.

IBM 5100 computer

In his online postings, Titor claimed to be an American soldier from 2036, based in Tampa, Florida. He was assigned to a governmental time-travel project, and sent back to 1975 to retrieve an IBM 5100 computer, which he said was needed to debug various legacy computer programs in 2036 – a possible reference to the UNIX year 2038 problem. The IBM 5100 runs the APL and BASIC programming languages.

Titor said he had been selected for this mission specifically, given that his paternal grandfather was directly involved with the assembly and programming of the 5100. In support of this, he described unpublicized features of the 5100, leading to assumptions that a computer scientist was behind the postings. Titor claimed to be on a stopover in the year 2000 for "personal reasons", to collect pictures lost in the (future) civil war and to visit his family, of whom he spoke often.

Titor also said he had been, for a few months, trying to alert anyone that would listen about the threat of Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease spread through beef products and about the possibility of civil war within the United States. When questioned about them by an online subscriber, Titor also expressed an interest in mysteries such as UFOs, which he claimed remained unexplained in his time. Titor suggested that UFOs and extraterrestrials might be travelers from much further into the future than his own time, with superior time machines.

The eeriest aspect of his numerous predictions is that a significant number of them have come true.

John Titor, in an Art Bell forum post from January 28, 2001:

1)2003 Iraq War

Many believe that the claims that Saddam Hussein had Weapons Of Mass Destruction under his possession sometime before the war broke out, were actually the cover-up for America’s role in the war. Titor predicted, “Are you really surprised to find out that Iraq has nukes now or is that bs to whip everyone into accepting the next war?”.

Some think Titor’s prediction had come true with the onset of Iraq war.

iraq war

Columbia Space Shuttle Accident

In a series of cryptic messages, John Titor questioned NASA, what they had they been doing about those overheating issues.

In 2003, the Columbia space shuttle was exhumed in flames and burned to pieces while entering the earth’s atmosphere. Many conspiracy theorists point out that the cryptic messages by Titor were actually a warning for NASA about the Columbia space shuttle accident.

3)Earthquake in Peru

Southern Peru, June 23, 2001 — A magnitude-8.1 earthquake (originally thought to be 7.9) toppled adobe homes and stone buildings, on Saturday afternoon (June 23). Most of the damage and fatalities occurred in the towns of Arequipa, Moquegua and Tacna. Arequipa Mayor Manuel Guillin said that 70 percent of the homes in his town were damaged. The American Red Cross joined the Peruvian Red Cross to get relief to the earthquake victims.

4.The Hidden Functions of the IBM 5100

You mean other than the mad cow pandemic, the breakthroughs in high-energy physics and the unknown functions of the 5100?

We’ve already talked about Titor’s connections to the IBM 5100. It’s true that, at the time of his posting, the hidden functionality of the IBM 5100 portable computer was unknown to the average consumer. Especially around 2000-2001, the average person wouldn’t have known such an obscure detail.

On the other hand, Titor’s statements about a “mad cow pandemic” and “breakthroughs in high-energy physics” are somewhat murkier.

There was mild panic regarding Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, or CJD (the human form of mad cow disease). However, this was quite a few years ago, and nothing I’d call a pandemic.

The unfortunate thing, however, is that CJD has a potential incubation period of decades, meaning if there was a massive spread of the illness that occurred 10 or even 20 years ago, we still wouldn’t know about it.

As for “high-energy physics,” new breakthroughs at CERN — which is almost its own character in the John Titor saga — may lead to some extraordinary outcomes. More specifically, Titor said:

Some very interesting things will be going on at CERN in the near future.

The Higgs Boson. Faster-than-light neutrinos. Whether or not anything comes of this, it’s too early to tell, but the forward march of progress continues. As the LHC ramps up its energy, who knows what we’ll discover.

A myth all too familiar for time travelling, parallel universe aficionados, Nick Christensen’s ‘The Man of Taured’ or ‘The Mysterious Tale Of The Man From Taured’? asks more questions than it ever did answers. And the fact that the mysterious story of the mystery man never got solved has hence prompted even more talks for a possibly of a ‘parallel universe’ or ‘time travel’ which director Christensen laid out bare to us as a movie? The story goes that in 1954, a mysterious-looking man arrived at the Tokyo International Airport claiming to have arrived from a mysterious country called Taured.

The story of an ordinary-looking man got downright creepy when, the authorities on checking his passport that legit looked real mentions ‘Taured his country, a country that is no-where visible in the world map or anywhere in existence for that matter. Persistent that his country did exist, the Caucasian-looking man pointed to the area occupied by the Principality of Andorra, and was even more puzzled as to why his country was called Andorra on the map that lead to a huge tussle of words as the myth goes.

Given the confusion authorities were prompted to put the mysterious looking man that also spoke French among other languages behind bars guarded by two guards only to discover the next morning that the man had completely disappeared from his cell leaving no clue whatsoever, a polar constant ending to Shawshank Redemption’s epic escape.

So, when does the question of time travel and the possibly of a parallel universe come into play here?

Much like Elisa Lam’s mysterious elevator story that still continues to ask more questions, though authorities levy her mysterious death on bipolar disorder, the disappearance of the mysterious man from Taured has a lot of alternate endings with the possibly of a parallel universe and time travel being the prime.

The two man possibilities that bare the possibility of possibilities are, the man from Taured had somehow passed through a parallel dimension by accident, and ended up at Haneda Airport further hinting at the possibility based on this explanation, there is a parallel earth which is known as Taured while it is known as Andorra in our universe. The other possibility is that the man was a time traveler from the future, who might have accidentally dropped on the earth and hence vanished.

Is Time Travel Possible?

Time travel is the concept of movement between certain points in timeanalogous to movement between different points in space by an object or a person, typically with the use of a hypothetical device known as a time machine. Time travel is a widely recognized concept in philosophy and fiction. The idea of a time machine was popularized by H. G. Wells' 1895 novel The Time Machine.[1]

It is uncertain if time travel to the past is physically possible. Forward time travel, outside the usual sense of the perception of time, is an extensively observed phenomenon and well-understood within the framework of special relativity and general relativity. However, making one body advance or delay more than a few milliseconds compared to another body is not feasible with current technology. As for backward time travel, it is possible to find solutions in general relativity that allow for it, such as a rotating black hole. Traveling to an arbitrary point in spacetime has very limited support in theoretical physics, and is usually connected only with quantum mechanics or wormholes.

Although humans can't hop into a time machine and go back in time, we do know that clocks on airplanes and satellites travel at a different speed than those on Earth. We all travel in time! We travel one year in time between birthdays, for example. And we are all traveling in time at approximately the same speed: 1 second per second.NASA's space telescopes also give us a way to look back in time. Telescopes help us see stars and galaxies that are very far away. It takes a long time for the light from faraway galaxies to reach us. So, when we look into the sky with a telescope, we are seeing what those stars and galaxies looked like a very long time ago.

However, when we think of the phrase "time travel," we are usually thinking of traveling faster than 1 second per second. That kind of time travel sounds like something you'd only see in movies or science fiction books. Could it be real? Science says yes!

How do we know that time travel is possible?

More than 100 years ago, a famous scientist named Albert Einstein came up with an idea about how time works. He called it relativity. This theory says that time and space are linked together. Einstein also said our universe has a speed limit: nothing can travel faster than the speed of light (186,000 miles per second).

What does this mean for time travel? Well, according to this theory, the faster you travel, the slower you experience time. Scientists have done some experiments to show that this is true.

For example, there was an experiment that used two clocks set to the exact same time. One clock stayed on Earth, while the other flew in an airplane (going in the same direction Earth rotates).

After the airplane flew around the world, scientists compared the two clocks. The clock on the fast-moving airplane was slightly behind the clock on the ground. So, the clock on the airplane was traveling slightly slower in time than 1 second per second.

Can we use time travel in everyday life?

We can't use a time machine to travel hundreds of years into the past or future. That kind of time travel only happens in books and movies. But the math of time travel does affect the things we use every day.

For example, we use GPS satellites to help us figure out how to get to new places. (Check out our video about how GPS satellites work.) NASA scientists also use a high-accuracy version of GPS to keep track of where satellites are in space. But did you know that GPS relies on time-travel calculations to help you get around town?

GPS satellites orbit around Earth very quickly at about 8,700 miles (14,000 kilometers) per hour. This slows down GPS satellite clocks by a small fraction of a second (similar to the airplane example above). However, the satellites are also orbiting Earth about 12,550 miles (20,200 km) above the surface. This actually speeds up GPS satellite clocks by a slighter larger fraction of a second.

Here's how: Einstein's theory also says that gravity curves space and time, causing the passage of time to slow down. High up where the satellites orbit, Earth's gravity is much weaker. This causes the clocks on GPS satellites to run faster than clocks on the ground.

The combined result is that the clocks on GPS satellites experience time at a rate slightly faster than 1 second per second. Luckily, scientists can use math to correct these differences in time.If scientists didn't correct the GPS clocks, there would be big problems. GPS satellites wouldn't be able to correctly calculate their position or yours. The errors would add up to a few miles each day, which is a big deal. GPS maps might think your home is nowhere near where it actually is!

Yes, time travel is indeed a real thing. But it's not quite what you've probably seen in the movies. Under certain conditions, it is possible to experience time passing at a different rate than 1 second per second. And there are important reasons why we need to understand this real-world form of time travel.Thank you for rading this article
