■Is it possible to Hack app data?
Yes, totally. But how east it is depends on the app.
One of my apps takes photos - that’s its ‘data’. I can open that photo in other software, edit it, re-copy it, even look at the raw source data. However, I would not call this hacking.
Other apps store data in all sorts of formats. Some are open formats, designed to be opened in different devices. Some are plain text files (althuogh in very specific formats). Some will be XML files, which can be opened in any text editor. Again, these can all be easily viewed. Not hacking either.
Some apps will choose to encrypt their files -
it’s only at this stage you could use the term ‘hacking’. How hard they
are to open depends on the type of encryption used and the skill of the
developer. They may be simple to open or very hard, but given a large
enough data set and enough computing power, it is possible to break any
encryption, although it may take some time.
